Excess penetrant is removed, and a developer is applied, drawing out penetrant from defects for visibility. Various chemicals are employed, including penetrants, developers, cleaners, emulsifiers, and solvents. Adherence to safety protocols and manufacturer instructions is critical due to potential hazards.

UV Lamps/Torch Lights
UV lamps are integral to Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), aiding defect detection. Emitting UV-A wavelengths, they excite fluorescent penetrants, making defects visible under black light. FPI relies on the contrast between the fluorescent indications and the background. UV lamps come in portable and fixed configurations, tailored for different testing environments. Proper lamp intensity and wavelength selection are critical for accurate inspection results. Regular calibration and maintenance ensure consistent performance in FPI processes.
Our UV Lamps are in compliance with ASTM E1417, ASTM E1444, ASTM E709, ASTM E2297, ASTM E3022, RRES90061 and could be provided Ex-Proof as well.
